Skinny Recipe: “Delish” Skinny Margarita for Cinco de Mayo!

Summer weather calls for an ice cold, frozen drink. But a traditional margarita can come in at over 400 calories. The sour mix alone can contain 40 grams of sugar! Try this recipe adapted from Delish.com to control your portion size and cut back on the amount of sugar. Makes one serving.

Ingredients

2-4 ounces Fresh lime juice (to taste)

2 ounces of your favorite tequila

1 ounce of Cointreau, Grand Marnier or Triple Sec

A dash of your favorite low calorie sweetener

Lime wedge and large flake salt for garnish

 

Directions

Combine all ingredients and shake with ice. Pour a little salt into a shallow dish. Drag a lime wedge across the rim of a glass and dip into the salt. Pour the mixture into the glass over some ice and garnish with a lime wedge. If you prefer a frozen Skinny Margarita, pour the ingredients and ice into a blender and blend to taste.
